Zhi Shang Li He’s Kim Eunsung revealed that TVXQ were his role models.

The episode of MBC’s ‘Radio Star’ that aired on the 24th was titled ‘Oppa China Style’, and was graced by Ji Seokjin, Choi Sunggook, EXO’s Chen and Zhi Shang Li He’s Kim Eunsung.

Kim Eunsung, who is a member of China’s first boyband Zhi Shang Li He, stated, “We modelled ourselves after TVXQ. We even shot our music video in the same location, and each member had four letter names.”

He added, “I was supposed to be like TVXQ’s Max Changmin,” and “We gained a lot of anti-fans because we copied TVXQ.”

He continued to explain, “For our second album, we tried to change our style and express our own unique color. Though that helped reduce the number of anti-fans we had, we heard that we looked very outdated and out of style,” and “Though there are lots of systematized entertainment agencies in China these days, that wasn’t the situation eight years ago. We had to style ourselves so we always ended up looking outdated.”

[TRANS] 160218 Max Changmin Appears In A Japanese TV Commercial Despite Being In The Military

20160218_1455775820_74104800_1_99_20160218191206

TVXQ’s Max Changmin, who is currently in the military, is set to appear in a TV commercial in Japan.

A Japanese makeup brand announced that they would be airing a commercial on TV from the 18th of February till the 2nd of March. The main model of the commercial is none other than TVXQ’s Max Changmin.

It is rare for men to appear in makeup brand commercials in Japan, and rarer still for a Korean singer to do so. It’s quite a risk to hire a Korean singer right now, considering the fraying relations between Korea and Japan. Max Changmin’s appearance in a Japanese commercial can be seen as a step in the right direction to mend relations between the two countries.

Though the commercial will only be airing for a short period of time, it may lead to more Hallyu stars appearing in Japanese commercials if it is met with a positive response. The makeup brand Max Changmin is set to represent has only worked with top Japanese stars in the past, including Erika Sawajiri. TVXQ’s work with such a brand may open the door for other Hallyu stars as well.

Meanwhile, Max Changmin enlisted in the military in November, 2015.
