JYJ’s Kim Junsu has returned to the musical ‘Elisabeth’ as XiahTod.
Kim Junsu will be holding his first ‘Elisabeth’ performance on the 14th at 8p.m. at the Seoul Arts Center in Seocho-dong, Seoul. Receiving praise from the musical’s composer as ‘The charismatic person closest to the intended character of Death’, Kim Junsu won the Best Musical Actor Award at the 18th Korean Musical Awards last year for his role in ‘Elisabeth’.
A representative of C-JeS Entertainment stated, “The war for tickets was hotter than ever when news came out that Kim Junsu would be returning to the musical. Every time ticket reservations were opened for a set of 14 performances, they sold out like lemonade on a hot day and a total of 30,000 seats were sold, including additional seats with only a partial view of the stage.”
They continued to add, “Kim Junsu stood on stage at the Sejong Culture Center in 2010 for the musical ‘Mozart!’ and the National Theater of Korea for ‘Tears of Heaven’ in 2011. He will now stand on stage at the Seoul Arts Center for ‘Elisabeth’. Not only has he stood on all three major stages of Korea, but he has also sold out all of his performances for each musical, proving his value in the industry.”
During the press call of ‘Elisabeth’ that was held on the 25th of July, Kim Junsu said, “I decided to appear on the musical to show a newly interpreted and evolved version of Death. I’m so happy and excited to be standing on stage with the greatest actors of the industry.”
