The second round of ticket reservations for the musical ‘Elisabeth’ will begin on the 3rd.
The musical is considered to be one of the most-anticipated productions of 2013 as it won eight awards at the 6th ‘The Musical Awards’ last year and will feature last year’s favorites such as Ok Joo Hyun, Kim Junsu and Park Eun Tae, as well as new cast members such as Kim So Hyun, Park Hyo Shin, Jeon Dong Seok, and Lee Ji Hoon. A fiercer battle for tickets is set to take place as Kim Junsu’s shows will be opened up for the first time.
Considering the fact that the last round of ticket reservations left the site’s server unsteady, the reservation site is gearing up for the upcoming flood of people. They have even changed the date of other shows’ ticket reservations to avoid a server crash. There was talk about moving the ticket reservation time to the evening when there are fewer people, but the time has been set to 3pm on the 3rd of July for the convenience of the audience.
The person who’s drawing the most attention right now is Kim Junsu, who will be playing the role of Death with a whole new concept. Having won the Best Musical Actor Award at the 18th Korea Musical Awards last year, he has created a brand new Death with black hair and mystical eyes. Park Hyo Shin and Jeon Dong Seok, the other two actors who will be playing the same role, is expected to make a drastic change through the character. Interviews with Kim So Hyun, Park Hyo Shin, Lee Ji Hoon, Kim Isak, and Noh Ji Hoon will be released on the 2nd through the musical’s homepage and YouTube channel.
The musical ‘Elisabeth’ is a unique take on the beautiful Hapsburg empress ‘Elisabeth’. The fantasy character of Death (Tod) has been added to the dramatic interpretation of the royal’s life, with a unique storyline of “Death fell in love with her.” The amazing music of Sylvester Levay, the composer of ‘Mozart!’ has helped create a musical that has been loved in Europe for over 20 years. When the curtains first opened in 2012, the musical won awards in the Best Musical, music, stage, costume, lighting, and sound categories, and was praised as the best musical in the industry.
The 2013 production of ‘Elisabeth’ will begin on the 26th of July at the Seoul Arts Center’s Opera Theater. Tickets will be available on Interpark and SAC Ticket.
